At ISC we believe that Service to Others is an important aspect of helping address the many issues that society faces today. There are many ways to "give back" to one's local community. This page notes several ways which ISC staff have taken the time to help others in our community.
Giving Back - Habitat for Humanity
ISC staff recently spent a day giving back to the community by volunteering at the local Habitat for Humanity (HFH) building site. HFH provides quality low income housing for families all over the USA and the world. Development on the site is scheduled to be completed in late 2011. HFH depends on volunteers for 95% of their labor. ISC staff will be volunteering again throughout the next year until the units are completed.
A key requirement for those wishing to own an HFH-developed residence is that the applicants provide a minimum of 500 "sweat equity" hours on site helping in the construction of their home. This investment of time and effort helps the future owners have pride in their home and community.
